Let's Get Lit (At Work)

I conducted this week’s Crafty Hour at work. You can judge me all you want, but it's hot as balls and when/if you didn’t have air conditioning at your house you’d do it too. So suck on that.

Anywho, let's get lit at work. And by that I mean, let's make light switch covers cuz who cares.

That's my boss. And this is now hanging in the office.

Disclaimers!

The opportunities are endless when it comes to decorating these plates. You can cover them in paint or fabric or even Harry Potter book pages if you wanted to be a huge nerd. We chose funny pictures and contact paper. Because it was easy. And in the supply closet. Always raid the supply closet.

Time to hide out in the back conference room and do this.

1.) Gather all your materials and throw them on the table to scare anyone who might be thinking of using the conference room.

We were really good this.

We were really good this.

2.) Cut out the image and/or background you want to use. If you plan on covering the whole plate with something, make sure you cut enough material to cover the sides. If not, just cut that out too? Whatever you want on it? Cover it?

Yep, that's enough.

Yep, that's enough.

Then again, who said you had to cover the whole plate? Why not just put a stripper with an eagle face on it? That's really all you need.

3.) Glue your materials onto the plate. Again, your plate materials can vary from covering the whole thing to just a few little guys.

4.) If you created a ‘full coverage’ plate, you’ll need to cut out the screw holes and switch hole. Which you can do with an exacto knife, scissors or whatever else is sharp.

Seems like a good enough way to cut holes I guess.

5.) Mod Podge them!

6.) Let them dry!

Sure, this makes sense.

7.) Admire!

This is a great metaphor for the "spectrum" of "talent" we have here. I'm obviously on the end.

8.) Attempt to put them up around the office.

Is this in the office hallway? Or the mens' bathroom? Better go find out!

Part II: Liquid Lunch Meeting

AKA Drinky Drink Time!

The Vodka Press:

1 ½ ounces Vodka

4 ounces Club Soda

4 ounces Sprite

1 slice Lemon

1 slice Lime

Fill a highball glass with ice. Add vodka, soda/tonic, and sprite. Garnish with lemon and lime. Miss your meeting, but you’re with your boss so it’s ok.

Looks just like a Sprite, doesn't it? Exactly.

Well I have a rule that once a total boss call out appears in a blog, it's time to wrap it up. Hope you enjoyed this week's Crafty Hour and it brings you hours of lasting friendship happiness.

Until next time...
