Oops-a-Daisy-Earrings
Summer is finally here YES. Naturally this means we all want to sit outside and drink/do a craft that has to do with drinking/planting stuff, right? Right.
And although I’m pretty sure you’re supposed to plant stuff in the spring, we’re still going to do it because the end result is a sweet pair of earrings and because I just don’t really care. It’s cool though. I promise.

Disclaimers!
Obviously you don’t need to use daisy packets. Use whatever flower you want! You could even use cucumber packets. Actually you should, those earrings would be hilarious.
Since I’m not one to craft-cheat (eh) I’ll show you where I found this craft. Plus, it’s cool. Ugh she's so cool. But know that I changed mine a bit. "A bit."
The title of this post has to do with the fact that I had several, several oops-a-daisy’s while making this. Only I didn’t say “oops-a-daisy.” I said the fuck.
Daisy Time!
1.) Pick out whatever packet you want.
2.) Cut whatever image you want out of the packet.
3.) Plant your seeds! I chose to put them in a Bell Jar because < everything I plant dies and I’ll just end up doubting my entire existence over another dead plant so why not at least try to blame it on the jar > they look cool.
4.) Cut out a piece of fabric that is roughly the size of your flower/cucumber image. Basically you're making it more stable. Hindsight tells me that I should have used a more neutral piece of fabric. But you know what? Hindsight is a little bitch.
5.) Then mod podge the piece of fabric to the back of your earrings. Then mod podge the entire back of the earring. Then mod podge the front! Mod Podge!
6.) Let it dry while you peel the modpodge off your fingers in the most pleasing and somewhat therapeutic way ever. Mmmmm.
7.) Ok here comes the hard part/the part where I almost but totally didn’t cry/part where I drank more wine/somewhat tricky part. So we’re going to break this down Tina Turner style. If that even makes sense.
8.) Pick your beads!
9.) So now take that jump ring/hoop thing:
10.) And put it through the bead:
11.) So just try a smaller bead. Which should be fine.
12.) Once you've shoved it through the bead, you have to close the now straightened out jumpring by using your needle nose pliers to turn it into a loop UGH HOW DO PEOPLE DO THIS IM TERRIBLE AT THIS.
13.) Now do the same thing for the other earring! HAHAHA NO WORRIES I GOT THIS.
14.) And breathing. And breathing. And breathe. Now make a hole in your flower/cucumber to put another new jump ring through.
15.) Now add the stupid jumpring bead thing onto the jumpring you put through the flower.
16.) Wear them!
More Oops-A-Daisies!
AKA Drinky Drink Time!
Gin Daisy:
2 oz. Gin
1 oz. Lemon Juice
1/2 tsp. Sugar
1/2 tsp. Grenadine
1 Maraschino Cherry
1 Slice Orange
Fill a shaker with ice cubes and combine all the liquids. Pour into an old-fashioned glass and garnish with the cherry and the orange slice. And by "a" cherry, I mean lots. Because who only puts one cherry in their drink. That’s just silly.
Turns out I used a jar for this. Not because I don’t own an old-fashioned glass (duh, of course I do…) but because I love jars. And they look cool.
Well I have a rule that once another use for a jar appears in a blog, it’s time to wrap it up. I hope you enjoyed this week’s Crafty Hour and that it brings you hours of friendship happiness.
